Amanda grew up in the Atlanta area and was a classroom teacher for 15 years before joining the Extra Mile Tutoring team. She graduated from Mercer University in 2006 with a degree in Early Childhood Education, and then earned a Master of Education Degree in 2009. While in the third grade classroom, Amanda has worked with a variety of students with unique needs and challenges. In 2017 she was named Teacher of the Year for her elementary school, and in 2020 she received her Gifted Certification. Amanda loves creating student focused lessons with real world connections. She feels building strong relationships with each child and using a hands-on approach are key components to student success. Amanda loves putting her many years of classroom experience to work in the tutoring arena. Her goal as an educator continues to be for students to love learning and thrive. Amanda has been with Extra Mile Tutoring since 2022.
