Similes & Metaphors! A Glimpse Inside Figurative Language

This week, Mrs. Mallory has been helping one of her amazing students master similes and metaphors, two key parts of figurative language that make writing come alive! 

Together, they explored how similes compare things using “like” or “as”, while metaphors go a step further by saying one thing is another. 

“Her smile was as bright as the sun.”
 “His words were music to her ears.”

Learning to spot and use these tools helps students add depth, emotion, and creativity to their writing!
